Clean can be green, too. That’s a philosophy we try to stick to here at The Cleaning Frenzy Blog. Most of the time, that means using DIY all purpose cleaning solution (white vinegar and water). Other times it means choosing a greener alternative to household cleaning chemicals. But one way to begin greening the cleaning products in your home is to build a ready-to-go arsenal of green cleaning solutions. Make up all of these at once and utilize when appropriate!

Hey folks, earlier on the blog, I raved about the Bissell Little Green. Some of you later emailed me (why the email, people? Just use the comment box and share with the rest of the class!) and told me that you loved your Bissell Little Green, too, but have been having problems with the nozzle getting clogged. I did some reading and found that the sprayer not working on the Bissell Little Green is kind of a common problem. So common, in fact, that it happened to me the other …

I’ll admit I’m not a big fan of those greasy, filmy spray cleaners for dusting. When I was a kid, my mom would make me dust the entire house with a can of Endust and I’ve kind of grown averse to it since then. So, now I’ve been looking for a greener, more natural way to dust my furniture. I often use Swiffers, but they don’t really get a good deep clean in.
When cruising the forums the other day, I came upon a good idea for a homemade dusting solution:
Mix …

The holidays are nearly upon us – which means at any moment, that phone could ring with the in-laws on the other side saying “Hey, we landed early and we’re on our way to your house. We’ll be there in 20 minutes!” As luck would happen, this typically happens when your house is an absolute pig sty. (After all, who doesn’t put off house cleaning until the last minute?) But don’t freak out. By employing some emergency last minute cleaning tips, you can make your house look passable in no …

Hiya, Fancydancers! After writing about cleaning chandeliers and repairing chandeliers, I figured I’d keep up the luxury level and talk about oriental rugs. My grandparents had this Persian rug in their living room that I was never allowed to walk on, which I thought was absurd. The thing did stay perfect, though, but seriously, unless that Persian rug flies or has a dead body rolled up in it, there is no other reason to have an oriental rug (or any kind of carpet) than to walk on it. Sheesh.
So, anyway, …

Hi, Pretties. So, it’s happened, hasn’t it? You went to the Bahamas on vacation and your kids had a wild kegger. While the protagonist in a teen movie had a failed sexual encounter in your master bed, some jock tossed a football through your foyer and busted your chandelier. Your kid swears it just fell off all on its own (”Honest, no one was here but me and a few friends!”) but the plastic cups you found embedded in your hedges and the faint odor of puke in the garage …

Good morning my vapid vagabonds! Earlier, we discussed How to Remove Red Pen Ink From Upholstery. Today, we’re kicking it up a notch as we figure out how to remove toner ink from material, such as denim and other clothing. How would you get toner ink all over your pretty little jeans, you ask? I don’t know, but it happens. Perhaps from a copier room office tryst, no? Or maybe you just couldn’t wait before the ink on your TPS report dried before sitting on top of it. I don’t …

Right by the door to my living room, I have a little plastic cup full of pens and pencils. Why? To remind everyone coming into my home to remove their pens and pencils from their pockets before sitting on my couch! I don’t care how much an editor spills red ink all over my copy, but for God’s sake, there’s nothing worse than discovering someone has inadvertently scribbled all over your sofa. The other week, I had that exact thing happen to my upholstered armchair. Naturally, I freaked. But luckily, …
